Stash for Windows

A Windows client is being built. It is not finished and there is nothing to download here yet — this page exists so you can see where it stands rather than guess.

In development. There is no Windows build available to install, and no release date has been announced. If you need Stash today, use the macOS, iOS, or Android app.

What is being built

The configuration you already have

Stash uses one YAML configuration across platforms. The rules and proxy groups you maintain for macOS, iOS, or Android are meant to work on Windows without being rewritten — that is the point of building it at all.

A real Windows application

The build under development installs through an installer that registers a background service, and runs from the system tray with its own menu rather than leaving a console window open.

Rule-based routing

The same model as the other platforms: route, redirect, or deny connections by rule, rather than sending everything through one tunnel.

In the meantime

The configuration carries over

Rule syntax and proxy configuration are shared across platforms, so anything you set up now on macOS or iOS applies later. These are the pages worth reading first.

FAQ

What people ask about the Windows version

When will it be released?

No date has been announced. Development is active, but we are not going to name a month we might miss — announcements go out on X and Telegram, and this page is updated when the status changes.

Is there a beta or early-access build I can try?

No. There is no public Windows build of any kind right now. Anything offered elsewhere as a Stash Windows download did not come from us.

Will my macOS license cover Windows?

Licensing for the Windows app has not been decided or announced. We would rather say that than guess and have you plan around the wrong answer.

Will my existing configuration work?

That is the intent — Stash uses the same YAML configuration on every platform, so rules, proxy groups, and provider subscriptions are meant to carry over rather than be rebuilt.

What can I use right now?

Stash for Mac and Stash for iOS are both released. Stash for Android is in early access on Google Play.
